The Founder’s Story
Marlene has lived both sides of the design world.
As a freelancer, she struggled for years to find fair projects. Pricing felt like guesswork, competition was endless, and instead of focusing on design, she had to split her energy between outreach, social media, and admin work.
Agencies weren’t the solution either.
High commission rates, low hourly pay, and impersonal client handling made it clear the system wasn’t built for creatives to thrive. At the same time, she saw how often founders felt lost too — unclear briefings, mismatched designers, and projects falling apart or just taking way too long because no one was guiding the process.
Living as a digital nomad since 18, working across different agency models, and spending several years in South America gave her a global view of these problems. The pattern was always the same: designers lacked fair conditions, and founders lacked structure and support.
That’s why she started MyMatch Design.
